The Book Club XL – Are We Allowed to Just Dream?

The second edition of The Book Club XL will be taking place on the 8th of December at Felix Meritis, with the support of De Nieuwe Liefde.

The Book Club is a round table conversation that welcomes philosophers and curious minds to discuss ideas brought up within a book. For this special occasion, we will invite the Book Club XL, a unique format of the book club, where we invite a curated list of incredible speakers at the table to discuss about a specific book and get in conversation with the audience attending the event – resulting in a collective philosophical conversation based on literature.

For this special session, we will have the honour to host a conversation about the new avant-garde book “Are We Allowed to Just Dream?”, by LadderBoyz in co-creation with Margot Purgues. A book that focuses on black football history and highlights the achievements, triumphs, struggles and societal issues that come with being a black player in football. In this special session, we will focus on a select collection of quotes from the book and spark a collective conversation about the societal barriers our guests face, their resilience, and their dreams.

The title “Are We Allowed to Just Dream?” is a question that provokes thoughtful conversation and debate, we would like to invite you to join in the conversation at Felix Meritis.

The night will be full of other surprises including incredible guests and performances.
