Dit programma heeft al plaatsgevonden

This dynamic exhibition, curated by Tim Wes, is an inspiring journey through the theme of change. Wander through our beautiful building and explore the profound processes of transformation through the eyes of artists Marlou Fernanda, Sebastian Boon and Tim Wes himself. Expect a dynamic programme with film, talks, music and visual arts.

When you plant a seed and it falls into the right soil, it will take root, drastically transform the soil. This disrupts the earth, but it is necessary for growth. Change is inevitable and affects us all, whether in personal growth, our work relationships, or the world around us. At a time when the world is in transition, we want to reflect on the question: how do we experience these changes as individuals?

“Without disruption, there is no change, and without change, there is no growth” – Tim Wes

This new exhibition provides a platform to explore how we can use this time of change to create a positive impact for the future. Wes aims to spark dialogue, explore new perspectives, and invite visitors not only to think but also to feel. Be inspired, enriched, and challenged by art that reveals the theme of change in all its layers.

Programme

Expect a dynamic programme with film, talks, music and visual arts. The artist collective the New Avant-Garde, consisting of Marlou Fernanda, Sebastian Boon, and Tim Wes himself, let go of their certainties and open themselves up to the unknown. What happens in the mind of an artist who dares to break with the familiar? How can we, through their art, reflect on our own experiences and challenges?

Line up

Tim Wes – multidisciplinary artist

Tim Wes has an exceptional talent for connecting different genres, worlds and people. He emphasises positivity, diversity and inclusiveness, and brings together both young and old(er) audiences to come together and enjoy his art. He draws inspiration from the concept ‘uomo universale’: man evolving on all fronts into a complex, multidisciplinary being.

Tim shows a deep fascination for film as a medium, in which diverse art forms come together.

Tim will present new work on 30 November, choosing between film and music. He believes in the power of the beginner’s mind: exploring the unknown and breaking his own thinking patterns. The film and sound experience share a common theme: vulnerability and emotion. Wes remains otherwise secretive about the project, but does leave an intriguing message: ‘Expect the unexpected.’

Marlou Fernanda | visual artist

Based in Rotterdam, Marlou Fernanda is a self-taught visual artist exploring various mediums such as paintings, films, performances, and set design. Guided by her inner compass, she navigates her creative direction with a focus on self-discovery and authenticity, inviting audiences to witness her artistic evolution with transparency. Through her work, Fernanda offers viewers a glimpse into her spiritually inspired universe, prompting contemplation of life’s deepest questions.

Sebastian Boon | visual artist

Sebastian is a Peruvian-Dutch multidisciplinary artist, also known by his pseudonym Segraphy, based in Amsterdam. Rooted in photography and graphic design, Sebastian’s foundation in visual storytelling evolved into a practice that spans multiple mediums, always pushing artistic boundaries through an exploration of color and composition.

What started as a personal journey to manage childhood anxiety has grown into a lifelong creative pursuit. Today, replacing fear with love is still the driving force behind his work, continually shaping his artistic expression.

Sebastian’s interpretation of the theme is reflected in an immersive experience, presenting his art in a way that immerses the viewer in an almost endless experience. The installation invites acontinuous shifting of perspectives, allowing the work to be experienced again and again in unique ways.

The Gang Is Beautiful | lifestyle brand & creative agency

The Gang Is Beautiful (TGIB) is known not only as a lifestyle brand but also as a cultural creative agency, celebrated for its unparalleled collection of (thrift) fashion, unique approach to nightlife, events and, above all, its community. On 30 November, they will enrich the programme with a DJ experience, among other things. TGIB sees inclusion as a way of life; embracing people of different social and ethnic backgrounds, genders and sexual orientations.
