Op zaterdag 15 augustus verzorgt Richenel Ansano de keynote tijdens de jaarlijkse Tula Lezing, georganiseerd door het NiNsee en het Herdenkingscomité Slavernijverleden. De lezing brengt actuele vragen over vrijheid, identiteit, historisch bewustzijn en maatschappelijke rechtvaardigheid in gesprek met de doorwerking van het slavernijverleden in het heden.

In the spirit of World Pride and the great assemblies of Black and Queer resistance, we thrilled to invite you to the ASSEMBLY! A movie night featuring the Dutch premiere of a unique cinematic portrait of acclaimed artist Rashaad Newsome’s most ambitious work to date, followed by a live performance and a DJ set to gather on the dancefloor to close the night.

Tijdens deze editie van The Singing Room vieren we de vrijheid om jezelf te zijn en lief te hebben wie je wilt. Na eerdere edities vol krachtige gospelklassiekers, zingen we dit keer ook de grootste pride anthems samen. Verwacht geen strakke show, maar juist een gathering waarin we samen gaan zingen. Dus kom zoals je bent, laat je horen en ervaar de pride & joy met ZO! Gospel Choir!

Step into the world of shadow puppetry & South East Asian Ghost Folklore. Wayang Women is the only all-women wayang collective touring internationally, sharing and reimagining Wayang Kulit - an endangered art form, with audiences around the world. Now, they are coming to Amsterdam. Together they are bringing South-East Asian ghost folklore to you. 

In anticipation of Bad Bunny's upcoming visit to The Netherlands for his world tour, we come together at Felix Meritis to celebrate everything his music moves. From Identity, to culture, resistance, and belonging, Bunny's music echoes far beyond the dancefloor. Whether or not you secured your concert tickets, you are invited to join us for an evening in celebration of Latin culture through music, performance, spoken word, film and - of course - a good perreo to end the night.  

The Holland Festival and Felix Meritis are organising a programme centred on the work of Hildur Guðnadóttir, associate artist of the Holland Festival 2026. Drawing on her sources of inspiration and her own work, Guðnadóttir will speak will with Aafke Romeijn about the breaking down of categorisations, the power of composition and the scope of her collaborations.

How do you continue working when the reality of war finds itself next to your rehearsal space? What is it like to create art amidst destructive forces? And how does the current situation in Lebanon influence the work of Lebanese artists in The Netherlands? During this Artist to Artist, a collaboration between Felix Meritis and Holland Festival, three Lebanese artists discuss these questions and the importance of sharing stories that often remain in the background.

From 12 June until 25 June Felix is home to after a tempest (2026), a satirical short film installation by Alex Raúl. Inspired by writer and postcolonial thinker Aimé Césaire’s play ‘a tempest’ (1969).
